I have had my two female guinea pigs for two years, and they are still quite nervous especially the one. They do not like being handled and will bite. Does anyone know I can tame them.

Some guineas are naturally unsociable. Out of 8 I have one that is still skittish and hates to be held with a vengence. I rescued her after she was dumped outside a nursery in a box. I have managed to get it so that she will take food out of my hand and won't immediately run away when she sees me which is an improvement, but I have had her for approx a year. I just leave her alone, she seems happy enough chilling out with the others. It might help if you just put your hand(s) in the cage for a few mins each time and/or offer them some food. Regular lap time should also help. When you pick them up hold them with both hands so that they will feel secure. They may be nipping as they are trying to tell you that they need to pee or they might smell food on your hands. I had one piggy that used to nip when being held, but after frequent handling he soon grew out of it but still gave the odd nip when he would rather be doing something else.
